Bi-Annual Scholarship

The Arete Helping Others Scholarship was established to help encourage students to seek higher education in fields aimed towards helping others, making a positive impact on people and or the environment. Entrepreneurship is encouraged!

Scholarship Award

The Arete scholarship committee will select one winner for the $1,000 scholarship – which will be awarded in the form of a check made out to the winner’s university or college.

The scholarships are taxable by law. You’ll be asked to submit a Form W-9 and a Form-1099 will be issued to you.

Who Qualifies

Applicants are required to be enrolled at an accredited university in the United States on a full-time basis for the Spring 2020 academic period.

The Arete Helping Others Scholarships are awarded twice a year, once in the Fall and the Spring. We are now accepting applications for the Spring 2020 scholarship.

Important Dates

  • Submissions Accepted starting October 1st, 2019
  • Submissions Deadline is December 1st, 2019, 11:59 PM ET
  • Winner notification: by December 15th, 2019

How to Apply

A qualified candidate must write an essay that is compelling and from the heart based on the questions below, the essay must be written in English and should be at least 1,000 words but no more than 2,000, please awswer the following questions:

  • What does helping others mean to you?
  • Why is helping others important to you?
  • What are you most passionate about?
  • What career are you perusing?

Send an email to Support@Arete.health with “Arete Scholarship: Your Name” in the subject line. Attach your pdf or word document to the email.

In your email, please provide the following information: your full name (and parent or guardian name if you are under 18), birthday, university or collage you are attending or plan to attend, expected graduation class, your major, email, phone number, your school identification or other proof of attendance or acceptance from a university or college in the United States or Canada.

Official Rules

The Arete $1,000 Helping Others Scholarship is available to any citizen of the United States who will be enrolled at an accredited university or collage full-time for spring Semester 2020. All other entries will not be considered.
Only one entry allowed per student, if you enter more than one entry, all your submissions will be disqualified.

Application period starts on Oct 1st, 2019 at 8 a.m. ET. The winner will be notified via email by December 15th, 2019. The scholarship will be awarded upon confirmation of winner details and bursar instructions.

All the required sections of the application must be completed as well as providing all requested documents.

If all essay questions are not fully completed or documentation is missing the application will be considered incomplete.

Once your application is submitted, we will send you a confirmation email and any other requests relevant to the application might not get a response from Arete.Health

Non-winning applicants will not receive a notification.

Your essay must be written in English and have a title.
Essays are required to be original and based on facts, they absolutely must not be in the public domain. If you submit false information, it will result in your essay being withdrawn. When submitting your application, you are acknowledging with clear understanding the compliance of these rules. Arete.Health holds the right to disqualify any entry that does not qualify based on our rules, per our discretion.
All applications must be received by December 1st, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
The scholarship awards are non-transferable. Competition is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The winner is responsible for any federal, state or local taxes. Winners must provide a publicity release to Arete.Health and complete a W-9 form in order to qualify the scholarship award of $1,000.
